SafetyBlock — Terms of Service

Last updated: [date of actual publication]

These terms govern your use of SafetyBlock, a Shopify app developed and operated by Offsite OÜ (registry code 14061956), Estonia, EU ("we", "us"). By installing the app you agree to these terms and to Shopify's own Terms of Service and Acceptable Use Policy.

What the app does

SafetyBlock audits your Shopify store against EU rules that commonly apply when selling physical goods to EU consumers (GPSR product-safety information, the distance-contract withdrawal function, storefront accessibility signals, cookie-consent presence) and helps you track and record supplier-provided safety data per product.

What the app is not

SafetyBlock is not legal advice, and using it does not make your store legally compliant. It observes what it can check and reports OBSERVED / NEEDS_REVIEW / UNKNOWN per item; a clean report is not a compliance certificate. Legal applicability of any rule to your specific business, products, markets and contracts is yours to determine, with your own legal counsel if needed. This matches the audit engine's own self-description (products/eu-compliance/audit.py: "Observation only — not legal advice or a compliance/accessibility certificate.") — we will not describe the app differently in marketing than it describes itself in code.

Full disclaimer, verbatim from the lane L3 legal review (lanes/L3/LEGAL-REVIEW.md section 4; use this exact text on the app's settings/first-run screen and report header once built): "This app helps you collect, confirm and display product safety information and spot missing items. It does not verify the data you or your suppliers enter, does not decide whether a law applies to your products, and is not legal advice or a compliance certificate. You remain responsible for the information on your store and for your legal obligations. 'Unknown' means no evidence was provided."

Your data and content

You keep ownership of all product, supplier and shop data you provide. You are responsible for the accuracy of supplier-provided facts you upload; the app records your evidence references but does not independently verify the supplier's documents (README.md, "Supplier contract" section). See PRIVACY.md for how we handle your data.

Plans and billing

Billing runs through Shopify App Pricing — charges appear on your normal Shopify invoice; see PRICING.md for the proposed plans. [OPEN: final numbers and trial terms are an owner decision, not yet configured in the Partner Dashboard — see PRICING.md "What L2 did not do".] You can change or cancel your plan at any time from your Shopify admin; see Shopify's own billing terms for how prorations work.

Service availability

We aim for reliable service but make no uptime guarantee in this draft. [OPEN: add a specific SLA only if the owner wants to commit to one — HyreKit's own public pages do not appear to promise a numeric SLA either, based on the pages read for this draft.]

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Offsite OÜ is not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages, or for regulatory fines, arising from your use of the app or reliance on its findings. The app is a tool to help you track compliance signals, not a substitute for legal review. [OPEN: have this paragraph checked by someone with actual legal qualification before publishing — this draft is written by the GTM lane, not a lawyer.]

Termination

You may uninstall the app at any time. We may suspend or terminate access for violation of these terms or of Shopify's policies. On uninstall, see PRIVACY.md's retention/deletion section.

Governing law

Estonia, EU. [OPEN: confirm this is the right choice given the app's global merchant base — HyreKit's own precedent was not found in writing, so this is a reasonable default, not a copied confirmed clause.]
